As the Head of the UX department at allmyhomes since September 2022, I wanted to work specifically on the following topics::
To achieve these goals, we opened a company-wide Slack channel, which with its postings was intended to serve as a place for publishing our research findings.
Together with the entire UX team, we published articles one to two times a week on our research findings and other UX topics, such as articles on behavior patterns and cognitive biases, which are partly the basis of UX principles.
Every Tuesday, we published a Confluence article on a behavioral pattern, in which the UX team presented a psychological aspect of user experience. This promoted an understanding of behavioral patterns within the UX team and across the company. Interestingly, for example, product managers adopted these presented patterns.
On Thursdays, a member of the UX team presented the most interesting findings from the previous week's Hotjar sessions in a brief presentation. This presentation was shared on our Slack channel and served as a starting point for interesting discussions within the company.
On a bi-weekly basis, we presented insights gained from UX expert reviews, competitive analysis and various other UX research projects. These sessions were shared across our Slack channel.
Here some of the positive outcomes that resulted from regularly sharing user feedback and research through weekly posts.
The "Let's Talk UX" initiative created a learning atmosphere within the UX team but also oriented the entire company more towards the users. The gradual acceptance of the initiative shows how important it is to work consistently on strengthening UX in the company through exchange and sharing of results. Additionally, it has led to increased visibility of the UX team within the company.
